You’re Not Alone, Sis: Building Your Support Tribe After Divorce

August 28, 20252 min read

Isolation Will Lie to You

One of the hardest things about heartbreak is the silence that follows.
Suddenly, you’re sleeping alone.
Eating alone.
Thinking way too much.
And the enemy starts whispering:

“No one understands.”
“You’re too much.”
“You messed it all up.”

Lies. All of it.
But when you're isolated, those lies start to sound like truth.

The Day I Broke Down (And My Tribe Showed Up)

I’ll never forget, after my divorce—Everything felt... heavy.

But then, my girls would show up.
Uninvited. Unbothered. Unapologetic. 😂

We had snacks, drinks, music, and tissue!
They prayed with me. Made me laugh. Reminded me I was still a whole woman.
And in those moments, it helped me start breathing again.

We weren’t meant to heal alone.

Why We Need People (Even When It’s Hard)

I know, sis. Sometimes it's easier to just retreat.
You might be thinking:

  • “I don’t want to be a burden.”

  • “I’m too embarrassed to share.”

  • “Nobody would understand.”

But let me lovingly say:
Your healing is not meant to be a solo mission.

God uses people to restore us.
To hold up our arms when we’re too tired to lift them.
To remind us of who we are when we forget.

“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” — Galatians 6:2

What Makes a Good Support Circle?

It’s not about quantity. It’s about quality.

Look for women who:

  • Pray with you, not just for you

  • Don’t need the “filtered version” of your life

  • Let you cry, laugh, rant, and still see you as powerful

And if you don’t have that circle yet?
It’s okay to start building it now.

💛 A Simple Step: Reach Out Today

This week, call or text one woman you trust and say:

“Hey sis, I could really use a prayer or a listening ear. Can we talk?”

You don’t have to spill everything.
You just have to open the door.
Let someone walk in and remind you:
you’re not alone.
