Broken, But Not Forsaken: Finding Faith When Your Heart Shatters
When It All Falls Apart
Let’s not sugarcoat it—this hurts.
Whether it ended with a text, a slow drifting apart, or a gut-wrenching betrayal… heartbreak after divorce or a breakup feels like a death.
And if you’re anything like me, you’ve probably asked the question no one wants to say out loud:
“God, where were You?”
I remember feeling like I had followed all the “rules.”
I prayed. I submitted. I tried.
And still… Everything collapsed.
I was left with silence, tears, and a faith that felt shaky at best.
God Doesn’t Flinch at Your Brokenness 💔
What no one tells you about healing is that the spiritual fallout can feel just as heavy as the emotional one.
I had moments where I questioned everything—my worth, my future, and yes, even God.
But here’s what I slowly came to realize:
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” — Psalm 34:18
He never left. Even when I was too numb to feel Him.
Even when I was screaming into my pillow.
Even when I felt too ashamed to leave the house.
Your Faith Doesn’t Have to Be Polished
Let me say this clearly:
You don’t need polished prayers to be heard.
Sometimes my prayers looked like this:
“God, this isn’t fair.”
“I’m mad at You.”
“Please just take this pain away.”
And guess what? God didn’t turn away. He met me right there—in the mess, the doubt, the rawness.
Healing didn’t happen all at once. But it started when I stopped pretending I was okay and let God into the ugly middle of it all.
The Lie: You’re Alone in This
The enemy will whisper, “You’re the only one dealing with this.”
But the truth is: you are not alone.
There’s a whole sisterhood of women—Black women of faith—who are navigating this same storm.
Women who love God and still carry heartbreak.
Women who feel broken, betrayed, and still hopeful (even if barely).
I created Pathway to Peace for women like us—not perfect, but ready.
Ready to feel again. Ready to be seen. Ready to heal.

💛 A Simple Step Today
Right now, grab your journal or the notes app on your phone and write this:
“God, here’s how I really feel…”
Let it spill out. Don’t filter it. Don’t dress it up. Just say it.
Then pause. Breathe.
Let God hold you in that space. No fixing. No striving. Just presence.
You may be broken, love. But you are not forsaken.
This pain won’t define you.
There is still life after this.
And you don’t have to walk it alone.
